Biography
Roberto Matassa received a B.Sc in Physics and Ph.D in Materials Science from “Sapienza†University of Rome. He currently works at Microscopy laboratory "Pietro M. Motta" of the Department of Anatomical, Histological, Medical-Legal Sciences and the Locomotive Engineer (SAIMLAL),"Sapienza" University of Rome. He is a member of Editorial Board for Scientific Reports, a journal published by Springer Nature (UK).
Research Area
His current interest is deeply devoted to understand the morpho-chemical-structural evolution of synthetic hybrid-materials and/or natural biological systems using electron microscopic and X-ray diffraction techniques. Recently, his scientific research activity is also focusing on the observation of the microscopic and chemical species evolution of biomedical systems in native state through environmental microscopy techniques enhancing the gathered experimental results by theoretical methods of quantitative imaging analyses (QIA). These findings are focusing for further understanding their self-assembling mechanisms of the biohybrid systems useful for learning the principles that govern the dynamic changes in the adaptive living systems.
